Exploring Europe with my Parents: Paris, France (My favourite things to do)

The last leg of my parent’s Euro-trip was the ever fascinating city of Paris.

Paris is one of those cities that never ceases to amaze me. No matter how many times you visit, it will always have something special about it. There is something for everyone; elegant gardens, museums, romantic walks and the always glistening Eiffel Tower.

Read on if you want to read about my favourite things to do in Paris.

The Jardin Du Luxembourg

This is my absolute favourite garden to visit when in Paris. Who cannot love a place filled with romantic statues, a Palace, flowers and a man-made lake filled with wind-powered mini-boats.

The first time I visited the Jardin Du Luxembourg was during my honeymoon, and when I visited this place again with my parents, I was just as impressed.

The Sacre Coeur

The Sacre Coeur is a domed Cathedral that sits high above the Montmartre area. The Sacre Coeur is not only a magnificent religious building but also provides some of the best views of Paris.

The weather was heating up when we arrived at the Sacre Coeur so I sat down and people watched while my parents climbed the stairs.

Galleries Lafayette

Galleries Lafayette is my favourite shopping centre in Europe. Not only does it sell exquisite items such as designer handbags and clothing, but when you look up at the ceiling, you can see gold embellishment lining the interior.

The Eiffel Tower

No trip to Paris is complete without visiting the Eiffel Tower and taking pictures with it from various angles.

My parents actually climbed the Eiffel Tower on a different day but when we went there with them, it was purely to relax and enjoy the buzz that surrounds the area.

We also could not help but eat Ladurée macrons by the garden next to the Eiffel Tower.

The Seine River

During the night, the area around the Seine River lights up and creates such a romantic atmosphere.

On our way to dinner, we enjoyed wandering down the side of the river to enjoy the scenery.

The Louvre

The Louvre is my favourite place in Paris because there is so much to see. I love learning about the historical figures, the points in history that changed France forever, seeing the crown jewels, Napoleon’s state rooms, religious statues and paintings and so much more.

My parents only wanted to go to The Louvre to see the Mona Lisa, but after I took them on a tour around the museum, they were amazed to see such well-preserved pieces of art.

They say that if you spent a minute looking at everything in the Louvre, you would take a month to see it all.

Now, if that is not a reason to visit Paris multiple times, then I do not know what is! I’ll be back again in January, so let me know which pieces I should definitely see!
