I have been nominated for my first blogger award! Thank you Cabbie Notes and Meg for nominating me for the versatile blogger award! I really appreciate it and I want thank you for sharing your travel adventures too! I love sharing my travel stories and hearing from fellow bloggers so I’m excited to be getting such great feedback
Here are the rules for the Versatile Blogger Award:
- Nominate 10-15 fellow bloggers (you’ll find my list at the end)
- Inform the bloggers of their nomination
- Share 7 random things about yourself
- Thank the blogger who nominated you
- Add the Versatile Blogger Award Pic on your blog post.
7 Random things about myself
- I will always call Australia home, but one day, I want to live in another country for a few years!
- I used to be a really picky eater, until I met my husband who introduced me to many types of cuisines. Now I’m a total foodie and will try anything that looks delicious! I took a food journey through Melbourne, check it out here.
- I have an extensive shoe collection! I have so many shoes that when I clean up my wardrobe, I realize that I have shoes in there that I have never worn and forgotten that I had.
- I used to shy away from adventure, but now I’m the first one to take up the challenge. I’ve been scuba diving, zip lining, quad biking, mountain climbing, and abseiling just to name a few.
- I used to take holidays that required sunbathing by the beach, but now I ALSO like to take holidays where I get a cultural experience. Check out my Inca family experience here.
- I’m a book nerd, and will happily read a book from cover to cover in one sitting if I found it too interesting!
- I love the Spanish language. I used to take Spanish lessons which gave me conversational Spanish skills. I hope to use these skills in Spain some day!
In no particular order, I nominate…
Morgan Jauncey - you share such beautiful pictures and interesting things about the places you’ve visited.
Tita Buds – it’s always so entertaining to read your posts!
Soulshine Traveler – you’re always an ongoing inspiration. I like how you left the corporate world and took on adventure without looking back (for at least a year anyway)!
Walking on Travels – you’re an inspiration to me because you make traveling with a family look so fun and easy
Wonder and Wanderlust – you’re stories of Europe make me remember why I loved it there so much!
The Former Trips of Sweet Kitten – you write about such interesting things and such interesting places.
Nic Freeman – It’s always a pleasure to read your posts and I think it’s great that you’re embarking on a new exciting journey through Europe!
Brain Caviar – I like how you love life and seem to take every day and experience as a blessing! Keep up the positive posts
Tangled up in you – after reading your posts, you make me excited to one day be a mamma!
Menaka – you make ordinary travel experiences seem like something out of a movie, especially with the beautiful photos that you post.
Sarah Somewhere – a great blog about life and travel. I like how you write honestly about change – how it’s scary but doable!
You’ve Got Nae – When I read your blog, I feel like I’m on the adventure with you.
Sweet Pea’s Kitchen – this blog has delicious food recipes!
Congrats! I also can finish a book in one sitting if I love it, yay for nerds
hehe YAY for nerds! I’m also one to buy all the books in the series all at once if I really like the first one, just so that I can read the next part of the story immediately!
Your Blog deserves recognition.. well done!
Thanks you for your kind words
Congratulations on your award! Isn’t scuba diving the best? We got scuba certified about three years ago and we have gone several times…so awesome! I have never been to Australia but I really want to dive the Great Barrier Reef. I would also love to go zip lining sometime as well. Thanks so much for passing the award on to me!
You’re welcome. and Yes! Scuba diving is amazing. I’ve been scuba diving in the Gold Coast and at the Great Barrier Reef and the reefs are just beautiful. You will really enjoy it! Zip lining is also a great experience because you get to see the forest and feel like you’re flying at the same time
Congratulations, Christine and thanks! I’m glad you enjoy my posts. I’ll be putting up my VB nominations, too before the year ends. Paying it forward and all that.
One thing, though: how come I already knew before this post that you’re a shoe addict?
That’s great
hehe is my love for shoes that obvious? It could be the fact that I keep mentioning my love for shopping
Congratulations!!
Thanks Andra!
Congratulations and thank you for the nomination!
Thank you and you’re welcome
Congrats – YOU DESERVE IT!!!
Thanks! I do enjoy blogging so it was a welcome surprise
Congratulations….
Thankyou!
Congrats and thanks for the nomination! How wonderful is this world of blogging? It’s a pleasure to have others’ stories and ideas at the tip of typing fingers…. BTW I’m impressed with the zip lining – perhaps that will have to go on my list of ‘scary’ things to do.
I agree, the blogging world is an great one indeed! While you get to give people a glimpse of your own world, they also give you a glimpse of theirs…
Re: zip lining – I think you need to definitely put it on your list of ‘scary’ things to do! You’ll initially feel nervous but when you finally get off the platform, you’ll feel like your flying! Do it and then blog about it so we can read about how you went
Congrats, and thanks for nominating me! I thought the shoes on your banner represent your love for travelling but I see now that it has a more literal meaning!
You’re welcome and thankyou!
The shoes on the beach actually were meant to represent my love for travelling but you’re right, it could also represent my love for shoes! I didn’t think of it that way until now
Congrats!
Thanks!
Well done on receiving this much-deserved award. Your blog is one of the first I chose to follow. I thoroughly enjoy checking in to see the latest adventure you have been on, and your pictures are great! I particularly like the fact that you find adventures in your own city (The Melb food journey made me want to fly right down there and eat everything in sight!) The fact that you not only acknowledge the world as your oyster, but that you also cherish your own home too. And thank you so much for your nomination
I really appreciate it.
You’re welcome, you deserve the award
Thanks for your kind words and support. I’m so glad that you enjoy my posts and I appreciate every comment and every ‘like’. I love sharing my adventures and equally excited to read other blogs. At the risk of sounding cheesy, the world really is a big place and there’s so much out there to learn and see!
By the way, I have just returned from a Christmas party where I told everyone about my adventures in Melbourne. They all agreed that the kebab sounded like the best meal I had! In fact, my boss is going to try it out this weekend when he flys there. If only they had seen the pictures of the food!
Congratulations on your award, it’s well deserved. And great choice on nominating Sarah Somewhere – I love that blog! I have only recently discovered your blog but have really enjoyed reading about your adventures and learning more about you. I look forward to reading more
Thanks Hannah. And yes, Sarah Somewhere is definitely a great choice. I like popping by her blog to see what she’s up to. I’m new to this blogging world, but I’m really enjoying it!
Thanks for your kind words and for visiting the blog. I have some exciting adventures planned in 2012, so stay tuned
Well done, congratulations!
(btw, how many pairs of shoes have you got? Last count?)
Good luck!
Thanks! I haven’t counted the shoes that I own. I have to give a box of them to charity every 3 months because I collect so many. But to give you an idea, I have a bookcase that displays my shoes plus I have about 10 pairs that I leave at the door as I run to the train station. I’m hoping that I spend less on shoes and more on traveling in 2012
You are such a sweet thing, and as soon as I get over my little computer issues (see Coffee: Foe or Friend–emphasis on Foe) I’ll be getting back to you on the award! Thanks for including me and what a sweet comment! You made my day! No wonder you’re a Versatile Blogger!
Thank you! Hope you can get over your computer issues soon
